A little about ourselves
Sheilagh McGreal, MS-ATR, LCAT
Sheilagh McGreal is the founder of Creative Pathways and Rochester Art Therapy counseling services. She has a very nurturing and supportive energy and has spent more than 20 years working to support individuals and groups. With a Masters of Science Degree in Art Therapy at Nazareth College, a NY Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT), and Registered with the American Art Therapy Association, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice. She has a very diverse background in counseling services working with adolescents, adults, seniors, and veterans with a variety of needs. She also specializes in treating the Highly Sensitive Person and is recognized as a Highly Sensitive Therapist by www.hsperson.com
Sheilagh is passionate about supporting Veteran's suffering from PTSD- a relationship that was first kindled by her work with the National Veterans Crisis Hotline for several years. She has worked within Rochester Regional Health System as a Primary Therapist and has facilitated family groups for on-going psychoeducation and problem-solving to support the clients and their families. In addition to counseling she has also held workshops with a customized curriculum to support peers in mental health for Self-Care, experiential Art Therapy, and Group Therapy practices.
In an effort to support the community, Sheilagh has also participated in a number of volunteer programs such as Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Locally, she has helped bring awareness to Suicide Prevention by helping raise money for the American Federation of Suicide Prevention.
